Dave served as the club’s first president and performed the countless roles of the position: coach, referee, fundraiser, photographer, organizer and emcee of the award banquet, etc. After his tenure as president he continued fundraising and cheering on the sidelines as one of the original soccer dads. Dave’s battle with pancreatic cancer was lost on April 23, 2010.
Don Herbst
Don was one of the founders of the Tonawanda Soccer Club and served as Treasurer for 26 years. It was Don's idea in 1981 to start a house league program that would make soccer available to all boys and girls regardless of athletic ability. That philosophy is what the Tonawanda Soccer Club is all about. Don was one of the most caring and dedicated individuals to have ever served the children of the City of Tonawanda. His passing away on July 23, 2005 is a great loss for all of us. His memory will be kept alive in the annual scholarship provided to graduating seniors that play for but also have volunteered their time for our club.
Dave Lambe
Longtime coach and Vice President of our league passed away on November 6, 2004 after a valiant battle with cancer. Dave's contributions were many and leave a void in our club that will be hard to fill.
Danny Durick
Danny passed away on May 31, 2005 after a long and valiant battle with an immune system disorder at age 14. Our support and love goes out to the Durick family. Danny played in both our house league and our travel teams, never letting his illness slow him down. He loved life and is a courageous example who will never be forgotten. Danny will be missed by all of us who were touched by his tremendous spirit.
