Skill of the Week Challenge
Starting June 6th, the Tonawanda Soccer Club will launch our new Skill of the Week Challenge!
Each week, players will receive:
- A new soccer skill to practice at home
- Video options for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players
- Simple drills that can usually be done indoors
- A chance to earn prizes for participating
The goal is simple: 10 minutes a day, 3 days a week.
Even small amounts of practice can make a huge difference in a player's confidence, coordination, and ball control over the course of the season.
How It Works
Each week:
- Players practice the featured skill at home
- Parents complete a quick participation form
- Players demonstrate the skill to their coach at practice
Players who complete the weekly challenge can visit the TSC Tent on game days to pick a prize from our prize bin filled with candy, toys, and other fun items.
Players who complete all 9 weeks will also be entered to win additional prizes including:
- Free TSC gear
- Free dunk tank throws at the tournament
- Opportunities to participate in special tournament activities
We're excited to help players improve their footwork, confidence, and creativity on the ball while making practice fun and rewarding for everyone.
We're kicking things off with one of the most important soccer skills: juggling.
Let's find out how many you can do! Is it 3? Is it more than 10? We want to know!
Juggling helps players improve:
- Ball control
- First touch
- Coordination
- Confidence with the ball in the air
While juggling can be challenging at first, improvement comes quickly with practice. We encourage players to try a little each day and work toward beating their personal best.
We'll even feature a juggling leaderboard on our website to celebrate players' progress throughout the season!

Participation Reminder
After practicing for at least:
- 10 minutes per day
- 3 days during the week
Players should then demonstrate the skill to their coach to receive a prize on game day.
Parents are also encouraged to send photos or videos of players practicing so we can feature them on our website and Facebook page.
Happy juggling, and good luck!
